Steve Doepker
Professional learning communities
Steve Doepker received his Bachelors of Arts and Masters degree in Education from the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He received his endorsement in curriculum and supervision from Purdue University in West Lafayette.
He served as an assistant principal and principal at several Whitley and Allen County schools. While with Whitley County Schools, he was involved in implementing the Baldridge Continuous Improvement System in the high school as well as the development of a Professional Learning Community (PLC) at the high school level.
In 2008 Steve transitioned to consulting for college and career readiness in middle and high schools in Northeast Indiana. He is director and co-designer of the Schwab Foundation ASK (Assessing Self Knowledge) College and Career Program that works with over 7,000 students in Allen, Adams and Whitley Counties. He has expertise in college and career readiness systematic program implementation. Further he served as a turnaround facilitator for six schools in the South Bend area. All six of these schools went from a failing status from the state to passing. Four of the schools received the rating of “A.”
He is presently involved in facilitating the development of the PLC model in two area elementary schools.
