Cahoots: The nuts and bolts that make helping possible

   The ongoing coffeehouse business at Cahoots is an important component of the business model there, but it’s not the heart of the mission for the two local churches that collaborate to make it all happen. The mission is “to serve the left, least and lost” by being there all the time.  The coffeehouse also provides a step program called Moral Reconation Therapy that supports older teens and young adults, some sent there by the courts, to make amends for misdeeds. Michael Burns Consulting worked with the Cahoots board to create a strategic plan, do needed board development work, complete a facilities evaluation and planning study and create a system of financial standards and practices designed to put Cahoots on its current path to sustainability.
