Erin’s House: Helping a volunteer-based program succeed

Erin’s House for Grieving Children relies on volunteers for much of its work with bereaved children, and its leadership asked Michael Burns Consulting for help to address issues with volunteers meeting the agency’s standards for working with children, clarifying expectations as volunteer responsibilities increase with experience, and allowing appropriate beginners standards for new volunteers. Michael Burns created a self-evaluation instrument that ensures accountability for volunteers that is integrated with the agency’s volunteer training program.
