NEIRP: Networking to support all students succeed

   The Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, an 11-county economic development agency, chose Michael Burns Consulting to facilitate the K-8 Network project of its Big Goal Collaborative. It was a community effort bringing support alongside efforts schools are already making to insure the region’s students all are succeeding in school and graduating ready for jobs or higher education. MBC facilitated the Grade 3 Reading Initiative and the Grade 8 Math Initiative. The Grade 3 team’s result is Follow the Reader, an online training program for adult mentors and parents of kindergarten to second grade young readers that is now in wide use in the region. The Grade 8 team piloted a program of after-school support for seventh and eighth grade math students at Kekionga Middle School.
